About Abi…

Abi McKenzie was born and raised in Naperville, IL. At the age of 5 years old when her mom asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up, Abi's answer was, "I wanna be on a stage!"

Abi graduated North Central College in 2023 with a B.A. in Musical Theatre and a minor in French. Featured credits include Vincent in Renascence (North Central College), and Travel Elf/Steward and Bailey U/S in The Polar Express (Rail Events Productions). As an actor, Abi has also worked at Porchlight Music Theatre, The Beautiful City Project, Circle Theatre, Metropolis Theatre, and Theatre-Hikes.

In addition to acting, Abi is a growing music director. Her career as a music director started with her senior musical of Next to Normal, and followed this as assistant music director (MD David Fiorello) for another production of Next to Normal at Pop Up! Productions. Abi is also a music director for BAM Theatre, an award winning educational theatre program in suburban Chicago.

In her spare time, Abi is a therapy dog handler for an elementary school in suburban Chicago and has an Etsy shop (MacandGracieDesigns) selling shirts to dog lovers. Abi loves to travel (especially to Disney theme parks as she's quite the Disney nerd). She also spends a lot of time with her Golden Retriever and Great Pyrenees.
